San Juan Lateral WTP Partnering Meetings Strengthen Collaboration

Key stakeholders gathered for the fourth quarterly partnering meeting for the San Juan Lateral Water Treatment Plant (SJLWTP) project. The meeting brought together representatives from the Bureau of Reclamation, the Navajo Nation, the City of Gallup, and the Jacobs design-build team to continue building momentum and collaboration on this vital project.

The stakeholder group is united by a shared commitment to delivering a high-quality project that improves the quality of life for communities within the Navajo Nation and the City of Gallup. The meetings emphasize:

• Open and honest communication

• Transparency

• Effective teamwork

• Honoring commitments

• Building trust

• Conflict resolution

A key feature of these sessions is identifying “rocks on the road”—potential obstacles that could hinder progress. These include technical complexities, regulatory approvals, and coordination across jurisdictions. Stakeholders worked together to develop collaborative strategies to address these challenges, leveraging the diverse expertise and perspectives in the room.
